Telegram group rules are a pinned message that tells new members what gets them removed. A good rules message is short, numbered, and specific about the three things that kill groups: spam links, off-topic promotion, and harassment. Below are thirty templates grouped by the kind of group they were written for. Pick one, delete what does not apply, and pin it.

Why the wording matters more than the length

Most rule messages fail because they are vague. "Be respectful" is not a rule anyone can enforce. "No screenshots of private chats" is. Three details that hold up in practice:

• Say what happens. "First warning, then removal" reads as fair. Silent bans read as arbitrary and generate complaints in your DMs.

Buy-and-sell and marketplace groups (9–15)

1. One listing per item, per week. Reposting the same item earlier is deleted.
2. Price in the post. "DM for price" listings are removed.
3. Photos must be yours. Stock images and photos taken from other listings are removed and the poster is banned.
4. No deposits before delivery. Deals happen in private, but if you ask for an advance payment in the group you are removed.
5. Scam reports go to admins with proof. Public accusations without screenshots are deleted.
6. No crypto or gambling promotion. No exceptions.
7. Sold means sold. Edit or delete your listing once the item is gone.

Support and help groups (16–21)

1. One problem per message. Include what you tried, what you expected, and what happened.

Growth, SMM, and marketing groups (27–30)

1. No "free members" or "free views" offers. They are either bots or a phishing form. Posts are deleted and the poster is banned.
2. Panel links only in the weekly thread. Everywhere else they are spam.
3. Show the order, not the promise. If you recommend a service, post the order id and the result, not an affiliate link.
4. Disputes with a panel go to the public scam reports ledger. Not to this chat.

How to pin the rules so people read them

Post the rules as one message, then pin it with notification on. In groups with more than a few hundred members, also set the rules as the group description so they show on the join screen. Telegram's description limit is 255 characters, so keep a two-line summary there and link the full message. What rules cannot fix

Rules do not grow a group and they do not stop members leaving. If you bought members from a panel and half of them dropped, that is a retention question, not a moderation one.
